Review of 'LIGHTS! CAMERA! IMPROVISE!'
by Catherine Belavage for Remote Goat
They say that Drama is easy but comedy is hard. Improvised comedy then, is probably the hardest of all. You need not just talent but also nerves of steel. This is why I am so impressed by Lights! Camera! Improvise! Comedy group 'The Scat Pack' ask the audience to pick three movie titles. They make the trailers and then you pick the movie you want to see. All 100% improvised on the spot. Set against music as this group also has a band! All the actors are amazing. As is the host/narrator. Each actor does a mixture of accents and characters. They even make up soundtrack songs on the spot. Some scenes are even played out in slow motion and rewinded. This is by no means perfect, no improvised comedy would be, they even sometimes forget the characters they are playing. This did not deter the audience who really joined in and laughed all the way through this show. This very original and dazzling show comes highly recommended. Go see.
